The course is split into total of six weeks of training. Each lecture is followed by a lab session for hands-on training.

This course covers following topics:

Week-1

  • Covers basics of SharePoint 2013 as a platform. You will learn various SharePoint’s roles and how to connect to a SharePoint server. You will be introduced to TeamSites, Editing, Saving, and Sharing Documents. You will also work with Library and List Apps.

Week-2
  • Introduces using SharePoint as Social Networking Site. This includes viewing and editing newsfeeds and your profile, Following people, documents, and sites, Understanding tags and mentions, Microblogging, Keeping track of your tasks, viewing your sites Tagging documents.

Week-3
  • Deals with SharePoint Sites and SharePoint Site Collections: The basics of Site collections, Creating a new site collection, Creating a new team site, Branding your site, Changing the look of your site, Editing site navigation, Saving a team site as a template, Searching in SharePoint, Improving search with query rules, Using project sites to manage work.
Week-4
  • Focuses on editing SharePoint Pages, Understanding app parts, adding an app part and a web part, modifying and deleting an app and web parts, understanding media and content web parts, displaying images in web parts, creating a wiki page, creating a Web Part page.

Week-5
  • You will be learning on how to integrate SharePoint 2013 and Office 2013 and control user access with the help of SharePoint Permissions and security groups.

Week-6
  • You will learn very important concepts of SharePoint Workflows. You learn basics of defining workflows and using out-of-the-box workflows, and
    creating workflows with SharePoint Designer 2013, and Visio Premium 2013. You will also learn SharePoint 2013 Server Business Intelligence Features such as creating a business intelligence center, preparing a workbook for sharing with Excel services, sharing a workbook using an Excel Web Access part, etc.
